RSU Surgical Association

This is the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Surgical Association (SurA). We are a group of enthusiastic students from different semesters who share a passion for surgery.

Meetings

Every month, we plan theoretical and practical meetings that are open to RSU students from all semesters.

In the theoretical meetings, we come together and discuss a variety of topics relevant to surgery. Mentors (surgeons) often join these meetings, and are willing to deepen our knowledge on the topic as well as answer any questions we might have. You can become an active member by giving at least 1 presentation and participating in at least 2 theoretical meetings.

In the practical meetings we practice and improve our surgical skills as well as learn types of sutures and procedures in events such as suturing and surgical knotting workshops, quiz nights, the Battle of the Scalpel and more. Some practical meetings are open to all RSU students, and some are exclusively for active members of the association.
