Challenges in sexual and reproductive health and rights research
During the last week of November, ANSER (Academic Network on Sexual and Reproductive Health Policy) members, including Rīga Stradiņš University, met at Ghent University and analysed the progress of joint projects as well as existing challenges in sexual and reproductive health (SRH) in Europe and globally.
On 27 November, politicians, representatives of non-governmental organisations and the private sector presented their needs, vision and SRH research data that would be of importance for further policy development, investment and NGO activities. The diversity of ANSER members provides the opportunity to analyse problems from different perspectives and to join forces in high-quality research projects.
The annual ANSER meeting resulted in several SRH research project concept notes which will be further developed and submitted in the nearest future.
During the RSU presentation as well as during the poster session all ANSER members were invited to participate in RSU Research Week in April 2019. This would be a great opportunity to strengthen the research capacity of the RSU Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Institute of Public Health and other RSU units in SRH.
