Objective

The aim of this elective course is to extend students’ knowledge and practical skills in mastering ultrasound techniques and the basics of abdominal ultrasound scan, develop the ability to find and recognise anatomical structures and organs, as well as to know most common pathologies in presentation pictures.

Prerequisites

The study course “Basics of Radiology” completed in the 3rd year of study.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

The extended knowledge of the abdominal ultrasound techniques will help students to find and recognise anatomical structures and organs and the most common abdominal pathologies.

Skills

Basic skills in the abdominal ultrasound techniques and the ability to find and recognise anatomical structures and organs in the abdominal imaging.

Competence

Students will be able to teach other interested students regarding the use of abdominal ultrasound techniques.
