Objective

Students should acquire knowledge of the pharmacological groups and preparations of the medicinal product, assess the efficacy and safety of the medicinal product, know what information should be provided on the medicinal product for the patient's safe use.

Prerequisites

Anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and histology, pathology.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

As a result of learning the course, students acquire basic knowledge and competence in the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of medicinal products, will know the drug groups and the use of medicinal products for the prevention and treatment of diseases. Students will be able to formulate mechanisms, indications and side effects for drug substances.

Skills

As a result of studying the course, students will be able to make choice of medicines, based on their effectiveness and safety assessment, and will acquire skills in obtaining information on medicines.

Competence

As a result of studying the course, students will be able to provide information to the patient about the medicine.
