On 26 September the regular meeting of the BaltCityPrevention partner project was held in Vilnius. Project leader Aigars Miezītis and the scientific leader of the project Inese Gobiņa represented RSU (in photo). Meeting participants from seven participating countries discussed topics on the use of various tools that relate to changing teenage behaviour.

Within the frame of the project, I. Gobiņa presented the innovative intervention model, which integrates e-tools and motivational interviewing techniques. Th new model has been approved by all partners and in 2019 it will be piloted not only in Latvia but also in Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland and Germany.

On 27 September the BaltCityPrevention project was presented at the Life Sciences Baltics 2018 conference in Vilnius. This is currently a global issue in the prevention of lifestyle-associated illnesses, and for this reason there were many people interested in the lecture. Participation in the Life Sciences Baltics 2018 conference provided an excellent opportunity to not only hear the presentation by Nobel peace prize winner Brian Kobilka, but also to gain more technical expertise in the area of public health and to establish new contacts.
