Objective

To raise students' awareness of the impact of adventure sports and activities on human health and their potential for use with clients or independently organising events.
To introduce students to different sports games, including knowledge of the rules of these games, to improve their skills and abilities in the basic elements of different techniques through a variety of exercises, to promote students' understanding of the role of sports games in developing health and physical qualities when working with clients.

Prerequisites

No prior knowledge of adventure sports is required, but a doctor's clearance is needed for high-intensity activities (rock climbing, orienteering, obstacle courses, SUP, hiking). Skills in sports games within the framework of the comprehensive school programme.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

As a result of the course, students will: Students will be able to distinguish and recognise adventure sports and their definition; identify the basic concepts and effects of adventure sports and activities on physical and mental health; know the rules of these sports; understand the role of these sports in improving health; have mastered the basic exercises for learning the technical elements of the sports games taught; can name the basic technical elements of the sports games taught; can explain the basic techniques of the sports games taught; will be able to use the sports games and exercises of the sports games to develop their physical abilities.

Skills

As a result of the study course students will be able to: use the acquired knowledge in practice by participating in extreme sports and outdoor activities; apply elements of extreme sports and outdoor activities in their practice; use and apply various exercises to learn the basics of sports game technique; apply sports games in their daily activities, strengthening health and developing physical abilities; select and apply appropriate elements of technique in game situations; apply learned sports game rules in game conditions; work in a team and promote socialisation.

Competence

Using the acquired knowledge and skills, students will be able to critically assess the suitability of activities for the client, the patient's abilities and potential risks. They will also be able to adapt physical exercises to the sport or activity. On the basis of practical and theoretical knowledge and experience, they will be able to apply sports games for health promotion, appropriate exercises for learning the elements of technique and developing physical abilities when working with their clients, use the appropriate elements of technique in game situations and know the rules.
